Who I am?

The intersection of curiosity and creation

Hey there! 👋 I'm Rodrigo, and if you're here, you're probably curious about the person behind the code. Let me share my story with you.
I'm a passionate mechatronics student and full-stack developer who lives at the intersection of hardware and software. My journey started with a simple question: "How do things work?" - and somehow that curiosity led me down this amazing rabbit hole of technology, innovation, and endless learning.

"The best way to understand something is to take it apart and put it back together."

My 8 year old self (probably)

My Story

From taking things apart to building the future

Growing up, I was that kid - you know, the one who took apart every electronic device in the house just to see what was inside. My parents were... let's say "patient" with my curiosity. 😅
What started as innocent destruction soon evolved into a genuine fascination with how things work. I discovered this amazing world where:
  • Mechanical engineering meets electronics
  • Software brings hardware to life
  • Math becomes magic through code
  • Ideas transform into tangible solutions
Today, I'm pursuing Mechatronics Engineering at UPC while working on projects that blend my love for both physical and digital worlds. It's like being a translator between different languages - the language of circuits, the language of code, and the language of human needs.

    while coffee.temperature > 0:
        if problem_exists():
            solution = brainstorm_with_coco()
            implement(solution)
        else:

Why I Love Tech

It's not just about the code

People often ask me why I chose this path. The truth is, technology chose me. But here's what keeps me excited every single day:
AspectWhy It MattersReal Impact
Problem SolvingEvery bug is a puzzle waiting to be solvedTurning "it's impossible" into "it works!"
Hardware + SoftwareMaking physical things smartIoT devices that actually improve lives
InnovationBuilding tomorrow's solutions todayCreating tools that didn't exist yesterday
AI & AutomationTeaching machines to thinkFreeing humans to be more creative
But beyond the technical aspects, what really drives me is the potential to make a difference. Whether it's automating tedious tasks, creating more intuitive interfaces, or building systems that help people connect - technology is ultimately about improving human experiences.

What I'm Up To

Current adventures in tech

Right now, I'm juggling several exciting projects and roles:
  • 🤖 Working at Lisa AI - building intelligent systems
  • 💻 Full-Stack Development at LinkSite
  • 🔒 Cybersecurity consulting at UPC
  • ⚡ Hardware & Embedded Systems at Runakall
  • 🚀 First cohort fellow at 404TechFound

"I'm not just learning to code; I'm learning to think in systems, to see connections where others see complexity, and to build bridges between ideas and reality."

Fun Facts About Me

The human side of the developer

When I'm not deep in code or tinkering with circuits, here's what defines my everyday life:
🐕

Coco, My Co-developer

My dog Coco is literally my debugging companion. She sits next to me during late-night coding sessions and somehow her presence makes the bugs easier to find. Rubber duck debugging? Try shih tzu debugging!

Coffee-Driven Development

I can't code without good coffee. It's not just fuel - it's my creative catalyst. My code quality is directly proportional to the quality of my coffee. Scientific fact.

📚

Forever Learning

Currently studying Mechatronics Engineering at UPC while working on multiple tech projects. Because apparently I like challenges... and caffeine-induced problem-solving sessions.

🌎

Peru with Global Dreams

Based in Peru but thinking globally. I'm always looking for opportunities to make an impact beyond borders through technology and innovation.

🎮

Gaming = Research

I play games not just for fun, but to understand UX design, game mechanics, and user engagement. It's all research, I swear! 😉

🔧

Hardware Hacker

Give me a broken device and I'll either fix it or turn it into something completely different. My room is basically a graveyard of "learning projects."

My Philosophy

How I approach life and work

"Technology is not about replacing humans; it's about amplifying human potential."

My core belief
I believe in building technology that serves people, not the other way around. Every line of code I write, every circuit I design, every system I architect - it all comes back to one question: "How does this make someone's life better?"
  • Simplicity over complexity - If it's not intuitive, it's not done
  • Learning over knowing - The moment you stop learning is the moment you become obsolete
  • Collaboration over competition - The best solutions come from diverse minds working together
  • Impact over impressions - I'd rather build something useful than something flashy
